Used truck casings and winter sets
We line up the buyer first, then find the tires.
Second Tread is a new Toronto company. We match reusable truck casings and matched sets of used winter tires from GTA shops with trade buyers, and we only source a tire once a buyer has told us in writing what they take and what they pay. Tires that can't be reused stay in the shop's normal collection stream.
Where we are: lining up buyers now. Sourcing from shops starts once buyers have confirmed their prices in writing.
How it works
A buyer tells us what they take
Sizes, acceptance rules, price and lot size, in writing.
We find matching tires at GTA shops
The buyer gets photos, the DOT code and tread readings for each tire before anything moves.
The buyer confirms, then tires move
The buyer accepts or rejects each tire. Nothing is picked up without written confirmation, and scrap stays with the shop's regular program pickup.
We don't grade or certify tires. Buyers apply their own acceptance rules and inspection.

What we look for: 7/32" of tread or more, under 5 years old by DOT date, no repairs. Other common sizes too.
Passenger and light-truck singles
- 4/32" to 7/32"

We're not collecting from shops yet. Once buyers are in place, we'll start with a small number of truck, fleet and passenger shops. We'll only take tires a buyer has asked for; everything else stays with your regular program pickup.

Nous trouvons d'abord l'acheteur, puis les pneus.
Second Tread est une nouvelle entreprise de Toronto. Nous jumelons des carcasses de pneus de camion réutilisables et des ensembles appariés de pneus d'hiver usagés, provenant de garages de la région de Toronto, avec des acheteurs professionnels. Nous ne cherchons un pneu qu'une fois qu'un acheteur nous a indiqué par écrit ce qu'il prend et à quel prix. Avant toute cueillette, l'acheteur reçoit des photos, le code DOT et les mesures de semelle de chaque pneu, et rien ne bouge sans sa confirmation écrite. Les pneus qui ne peuvent pas être réutilisés restent dans le circuit de collecte habituel du garage. Nous ne classons ni ne certifions les pneus.
Nous aimerions avoir des nouvelles des acheteurs de carcasses et des rechapeurs, des détaillants de pneus usagés, des exportateurs et des organismes de responsabilité des producteurs (ORP) de l'Ontario. Garages : bientôt.
